The Docklands History Group organises annual conferences which take place on a Saturday in the spring each year. These are held in the Weston Theatre of the Museum of London. The box below shows the next conference and you can also view the programmes of future conferences and those that have already taken place.
SHIPBUILDING ON THE THAMES
This will be the seventh in a successful series of symposia looking at the much neglected subject of shipbuilding on the Thames. Up until the end of the nineteenth century the Thames was a very important shipbuilding centre. In the first half of the nineteenth century it led the way with iron shipbuilding and the development of steam powered ships. There are thus many themes that can be followed with much more information becoming available through research.
