The Docklands History Group (DHG) came into being in 1979 as an independent body to encourage greater understanding of all aspects of the Port of London, and the maritime, industrial and social history of the River Thames, together with its continuing development.
Amongst DHG’s members are many of the people whose dedication to the area contributed to the creation of the long-awaited Museum of London Docklands established now on West India Quay. You can read a short history of the DHG’s work to date.
Membership details and our programme of events are available, and you can contact us directly from here.
For the future, we plan to have an archive of lectures, notes, reading list, photographs, etc available from this site.
